Bellator announces full card for Sept. 26 Milan event

The first of three upcoming Bellator shows in Italy has its lineup card filled.

Thirteen fights are now official for the Sept. 26 show, which takes place at Allianz Cloud in Milan, the promotion announced via press release Thursday.

In addition to the previously announced middleweight headliner of Fabian Edwards (9-0) vs. Costello van Steenis (12-2), the middleweight co-main event between Italy’s Pietro Penini (9-1-1, 1 NC) and Mike Shipman (13-3), and a main card middleweight matchup between Will Fleury (7-3) and Kent Kauppinen (12-5), 10 bouts have been made official for the event’s preliminary card.

Notable names competing on the preliminary portion of the show include veteran welterweight Ion Pascu (18-10), who fights Stefano Paterno (13-3-1), standout bantamweights Frans Mlambo (8-5) and Cory Tait (10-5), and The Ultimate Fighter 27 alumnus Richie Smullen (5-2-1), who fights Harry Hardwick (5-2).

Bellator Milan will air live on Channel 5 in the U.K. and stream live on Bellator MMA’s YouTube channel in the U.S.

Allianz Cloud will also host Bellator shows on Oct. 1 and Oct. 3. No fans will be in attendance for these events due to COVID-19 restrictions.
